Coffee Shop Sunday #2

Our second Coffee Shop Sunday gathering took place this afternoon at Costa Coffee when we sang, prayed and had "Christmas Conversations".

The songs were '10,000 Reasons - Bless the Lord Oh my Soul' (Matt Redman), 'Silent Night', 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing' and 'Here I am to Worship' (Tim Hughes.

It was a good turnout with 35 people, including at least 6-8 new people.

It's still early days but so far so good!

The Maiden Voyage

We set sail for our first gathering on 1st December in Costa Coffee at Gallagher Retail Park, Coventry. There were 21 of us including 3 Costa staff which was a great start!

It was a unique experience for all of us as we "met God in an ordinary place."

Costa Coffee was open for the first half hour and although no customers stayed on we nevertheless made contact with them. Seeds were planted.

As Trevor said in his opening remarks, "one of the best ways I learned to ride a bike as a kid was by falling off several times."

This first gathering was a massive learning experience for us all.
  • Yes we could have done things better
  • Yes some things could have been more slick and professional.
And yet, our feeling is of great warmth and pride that we are up and running and we will take valuable lessons into our next session on 15th December.

John Wesley said on his death bed "Most of all is. God is with us" - Amen to that Mr Wesley.

Marcus P provided the music: "10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord Oh my Soul)" by Matt Redman, "When the Music Fades" by Matt Redman and "Hear the Call of the Kingdom" by Stuart Townend.
